Lockback problem....need help

Brownshoe - Bob was referring to the difference in the blade finish - polished versus satin. Saying that the blade finish difference had nothing to do with the perceived lock issues.

IMO the problem is more than dirt. Mine has a distinct click when the Latch Un-locks. I was able to get it to release but then it was not very repeatable at all. I had to use the square corner of my wooden work beck to keep working the release and I may have gotten it to the point now where it is somewhat repeatable. Still have the click though. Neither of my other 3 have the click or the issue. The problem appears to have been only on my Clip Blade. If the Stag was not exceptional on the problem knife , it would have gone back!!!!! Added : My clip blade is not the Satin version . Maybe they discovered the problem at GEC and corrected it and then the corrected blades were the satin versions. That is one way to keep track of them in their shop.

Most likely the lock bar is just a tad too long and is binding in the tang slot. There are a few fixes for this but for the most part they all require disassembly of the knife, or strategic strikes with a punch that I wouldn't recommend. I'm sure they can do the repair without harming the stag Harry, I'd definitely give it a shot.

Thanks Eric : I will most likely contact the guy I trust very much where I bought it and ask his advice first. My "Woking it in " is not working very well . It is not very repeatable at all.
