Lockback Trapper?

    OK, I've somehow missed these lockback trapper knives my entire life! I saw a new production one in a message the other day and could not recall ever seeing one before. What's the history behind these? How long ago were they made? Any info is appreciated....

    Here's a pic of similar. The one I saw was a bit thinner than the above #4 Moore Maker and Western. Maybe it's more of a stockman?

    Camillus made them. I had a double lockback large trapper as big and heavy as a sash-weight. I sure would like to know how I lost that.
