Lockbar near 100% lock up when waved

Ah, really weird then.

Omenwolf, did you tried to degrease the lockbar-blade parts?

Regards
Yes the blade was touching the lockbar side out of the box so it was taken apart cleaned lightly oiled, secondary detent bar was pushed back a little. Put back togeather and and centering and smoothnes were perfect. Lock up is about 40-50% when thumb disked and is solid with no play in any direction. Only time it goes in late is with a HARD wave.

omenwolf if you already tried to take it apart again and reassemble, and its the same, send it. I have flick opened my mini cqc 7 VERY HARD and opened almost the same when thumb disked.

You're lucky as you're in the USA... fast and easy shipping :D

Can I ask a question? And not that it should matter but why are you waving it "HARD"? Was it an emergency? It's fun I get it but in all seriousness it's just kinetics. You can create a LOT of force when waving "hard." The knife can handle it but in my opinion you should only wave it out quickly when in an emergency.

Not much to add, but I wouldn't worry about late lockup unless your knife has blade play. My sister's CQC7 does the same thing yours does and she hasn't had any issues with it.

Basically because I should be able to, and I only do it once in a while. Im not to worried about it anymore if it gets any worse ill send it in. Or maybe I can find someone local to the Greater Portland OR area that does carbidizing, that will make it lock up a little earlier and make the lock not so sticky.

The knife can handle it and you ARE able to wave it that way. As you see, that's what the lock does when waved hard. Just FYI, carbidizing will void your warranty. Like I said before, you can send it in and we can fix it if it continues to bother you.

Also, just my opinion, but I'd rather have a later lock up and sticky lock versus a early lockup and non sticky for safety purposes.

Well I guess I wont be cabidizing it then, thanx for the heads up on that. And this one has a sticky lock as well as a late lock up so I should be pretty safe beating on it lol, I am hoping the stickiness of the lock goes away after a while of break in. It is still very new only a couple of weeks old, as I said if it gets worse or just annoys me to no end I will let you know.
Thank you very very much for your concern of my happiness with this purchase, it is greatly appreciated.

Anytime! And yes, it will go away. Keep working at it. Sometimes I open and close it (not waving) while watching a movie. It'll definitely annoy whoever else is on the couch but who cares. Priorities!
