locking mechanism with Cricket ?

Just bought a Cricket model. Seems very well made, useful and the blade is very sharp. Got the etched version, thinking maybe I should have gotten the brushed version... anyway - the locking mechanism does not make a clean 'click' when I open it, it makes 'cli-click'. The locking plate first moves a bit (at this stage you can close it back by pushing back a bit stronger), then moves completely (you cannot close it anymore unless you unlock it). Is this normal ??

Thanks !

Actually never mind, with half a minute of close examination, I saw what is causing the cli-click thing, it's the small bit that prevents the blade from opening too easily.

Yes. That's called the detent. It's a tiny bead set into the frame that engages a dimple in the tang.
