Locking sodbuster

I've handled a few Mooremakers and quality seemed hit or miss at times on the lower priced end. I may order one and see how it comes out. Thank you.

I would also give the GEC Linerlock 23 a serious look btw. Very solid lockup on both of mine and very similar to the large sodbuster types. This one has quickly become a favorite that knocked the Bullbuster off my belt as a edc, and I love the Bullbuster.

I have to say, this is a beautiful shot.

Kutmaster Hog Knife (or Pigman) is a back-locking sodbuster I found at Fleet Farm in a blister pack. It came with a cross-draw sheath that fits my other full-sized sodbusters.

Nice knives Meako!

If you are looking for a serious working tool, in a nice steel, I am thinking Queen may be the top choice.

They are around. Bit less than a year or two ago. But every bit as available as other brands on the auction sites.

Also remember you get Queen if you search under Moore Maker, John Primble, Winchester, Robeson, Cougar Creek and many more.

When I was 10 - 12 years old I really wanted a locking Case sodbuster that I saw at a hardware store, but, since I lived in NYC, I couldn't get it. Years later I finally got two on eBay. Should be able to decipher the date from the one, the other is too rough to see well.

Rough Riders have a linerlock version, but its not a solid lockup like you'd find in a modern knife. Bear&Sons has a g10 lockback version, but I would want to handle one before I buy it. Of the ones I looked at when I bought this one 2 I had to push the lockbar onto the countertop to unlock it, extremely stiff! This one had no play when I bought it, and while stiff to unlock it was at least manageable. Although I stupidly loaned it to a non knife person who used a hammer to drive it into a thick plastic bin on a pontoon boat to drain water. While it did develop a bit of play from this the lock didn't fail.
I can't imagine taking a hammer to someone else's knife. What the heck is wrong with people??
