Locks on custom knives.

I've been thinking about the purchase of a custom folder, however, I hesitate on dropping 400-500 dollars on a knife that features a lock (liner lock)that while good at the moment will weaken over time due to wear. I would like to find a custom knife that features a buttom type lock or one that wear and tear would not have adverse reactions. Any thoughts on the matter? Also, does anyboy already know of a custom maker using a "bullet proof lock.

If you're looking for a button lock try Scott Sawby. The Sawby lock is also a good choice.
There are still plenty of lockbacks around.
Bill Pease and Frank Centofante make great lockbacks.
Check the purveyors tables at a knife show.
Subscribe to the Cutting Edge and you will have a never ending choice if fine knives that aren't liner locks.
Gary Levine might have something you'd like. http://www.levineknives.com/m.pl/catalog.htm
Check the internet custom knife dealers you can find plenty of nice knives and not have to settle for a liner lock.

I'll second Scott Sawby.

Lots of guys doing integrals, these days, too.

You wouldn't have to worry about wear on a properly made integral lock. My sebenza's ceramic ball bearing will wear out long before anything else. You can imagine how long it took to wear the ball.
