Just to be clear , this is a Sept. 15, 2015 Birthday. Anything could have changed ....

The thing is the knife is in great shape.... No signs of abused at all scales has very minimal snail trail and no scratches on the blade. It just needs sharpening. The blade tip is pointed and sharp.

No way this could have been dropped. I have the knife with me for less than a week.( less than 3 days) I just cleaned it and put it in my display case. Did not carry it nor cut anything...

Here is the for sale thread. I bought on the Oct. 31st 2016 and got the knife on Nov. 3rd. 2016

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-in-great-condition-manufactured-July-15-2015

The original owner insisted that I check the knife first when I get it back from the OP.

I also emailed these pics to Alysia of CRK if this is normal. Anyone has Seb 21 to verify if this is normal ?

The blade tip is pointy and sharp, both side of the blade are clean of scratches. The scales has a very few light snail trail, lockbar is nice and straight. WTF ! I really do not see signs of abused. I am really surprised.

So, you bought the knife, had it for a few days and traded it off?????

None of this means the damage was caused by you..It's just not normal to CRK products.
We can only review the pictures and give opinions based on the pictures. The quality of said reviews is also based on the quality of those pictures.
The current owner is the one stating this "feature" exists and we, the collective, are saying it's not supposed to be this way.

And to be clear, I have current year models that do not have this in them.

Yes, I bougth it by impulse. I was really set for Umnumzaan tanto. I posted a for sale forum in the Jeeze knife forum and while looking I saw the OP knife for trade.

I am wondering if I should file a dispute now with Paypal or wait till CRK verify it? But looking at the normsl blade tang pic, this one have is rougher blade tang .

This is a legit Sebenza, but the ( notch, deformation, etc. ) in the blade tang is Not factory. I have had close to 100 sebenzas that cover many different years and time frames and have never seen such a mark.

The returned knife from the OP will be here on Saturday. I would take more pictures and probably
disasseble the knife and get a better shot of the blade tang...

Update from CRK customer service.

The rear of the blade does not look like typical wear. The titanium lock arm does not have a harder RC than the blade itself. This means that it is very unlikely that the lock arm caused this with normal opening of the blade. There can be what we consider to be "abuse" of the knife without markings on the blade and/or handle because we consider forceful flicking when opening of the blade, as abuse. If this is the case, there will most likely be indications of this on the blade and/or lock arm. With that being said I am unable to identify what may have caused this based on the photos, but it does look like something that needs to be address. I recommend sending the knife to us for inspection.

I have attached the information and form for sending the knife to us. Once the knife is here in person, we will have a better idea of what is going on with the knife and how to remedy the situation for you. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day.

Thank you,

Alycia

Finally, the first owner agreed to refund my money and send him back the knife as long as I check the knife and it was not butchered. 😁 I gave the link to this thread.

That is great news and shows a great deal of class from the original owner.

Update: Knife is back to me from the OP. I also sent the knife back today to the original owner for refund.

I think I need to start a new thread for this issue so everybody who is a novice to CRK can learn from this. I prefer to post images as the first post in the new thread.

What really struck me is that the OP picture of the knife from the 1st post , which is not as crisp or clear compare to my new thread pics, it looks like a different knife at all????? I am 100% sure I have the same
knife back. I remember flaws in the blade when I first got it from the original owner. If you hold the knife
and shine a light along the blade surface near the tip on the none lockbar side, there are few faint scratches going the same direction towards the tip. This is not very obvious at all to the average eyes as if there is no flaw. I do have 20/20 vision and OCD about scratches on knives. I examine flaws of this knife visually when I first got it from the original owner the OP is probably more OCD than me? LOL! (No offense)

And if you don't believe me that I sent the knife back to the first owner (original) who sold me the knife here in the forum, here is my proof!

Here is the updated thread that I started: Pls. I need your expertise guys. Thanks !
