loctite

has anybody used loctite on the torx screws of a BM 42 to prevent it from loosening up ???

They will loosten up pretty quick if you don't. Just be sure to use the low strength variety or you will strip the heads if you ever need to make adjustments later.

I use it all the time on all my modern Ti handled BM's. They come that way from the factory, because you'll see a little dot of blue stuff on the threads when you take one apart. Here's the previous thread that covered the topic:

I have for my bm42a. IF you refer to tonys thread. You will see that I used it a while ago and my bm42a is still going good. I haven't had to re-locktite it once. So I only lock-tited it once and its still holding up strong.

I guess the important thing is to use a degreaser first!
