Lofty Wiseman Survival Tool - its back?

Way overpriced just for the name stamped on it and also not a fan in the least bit of the TOPS stuff.

Not all of TOPS stuff is 1/4" sharpened prybars with funky holes and weird angles:D I would have to say the Pasayten is a good example of functional quality. I do agree that the prices are pretty steep...especially MSRP, but for being American Made, they QA/QC is quite good. For every dozen designs they usually get a good one in the mix,

Re: Teddy Bear Grylls' parang

One thought: er, why the top guard??? Also, I could be wrong, but the angle of the handle relative to the blade looks kind of weird? Seems that it would force your wrist to "cant" at an angle instead of a straight, locked wrist?

Of course this is just armchair "bushnalysis". I wanna find out thru actual use.

Why not just buy a Martindale #2 Golok? It has a parang shape to it. These have been proven in the bush for many years and are plenty tough. Don't expect any fantastic edge retention. I did have to grind a decent convex edge on mine for it to perform well.
