Logo advice, the time has come

After my last debacle with my name stamp on the finished Damascus blade I relized its time to step up and replace it. I made this stamp a LONG time ago and it's worked fine for a long time but now that I do mostly cold stamping it so not performing to my level of expectations. The problem I'm having is the depth is uneven twords the end of my name so when I go to clean up the blade it washes out. I figure now is as good of time as any to go with an actual logo. I have a logo stencil I use but it has such fine detail that I have to use the big stencils in order to get a good etch. And I don't like big logos right on the side of an edge bevel. So I have been kicking around ideas for the last few years but never settled on one becaus I just ended up using my J.J.TODD stamp.

I have rounded up all my concepts and need your advice on what you think.
First up is a pic of my current 2 markings, one is stamped and the other is etched. I'm kinda particle to stamping as like to put my mark on the tang and not on the edge bevel.

I designed this a year or so ago. And it's just a simple JT with a box around it.

Then a few months ago I had the idea to use the pie symbol backwards as my logo.

And last but not least I sketched these 2 up last night becaus I thought it would be a good idea to have a way to narrow down where thy can find me.

So look them over and let me know what you think. Or if you have any other ideas that could work. Thanks guys for any help you can provide.

The entire point is to let people know who made it.

In the future they can either look at a name of who the maker is or look at a picture and have no clue who made it.

I like using the name, it is like signing a piece of art.

I'm 100% in agreement with using my name, that's what started all this, my name stamp went tits up. I only posted the other ideas to show what else I have been working on.

I think on the JT box, most people will just see an abstract shape and not see the letters.
I like the MADE logos, but I think it would look off since you would probably have to do it sideways if you wanted it on the tang.
I just started cold stamping my blades and I'm glad I just went with my name. It looks good horizontal or vertical. Maybe play with some fonts?

I would just keep the name on the tang like you had it, but try just etching it in nice and deep instead of stamping it in.

I would say to lose the TODD in all caps.
Just use J.J. Todd.
Or, just Todd.

Keep it simple. Make it easy to read and remember.

I love simple and easy. I might be weird but the longer I do this the less attention I want drawn to the logo. I want simple and to the point

I agree, big logo screaming across a blade takes away from the beauty of it.

I like the backwards pi sign, and make it small.

My humble opinion is to find a stylish , dignified font and use your last name. Not too big...maybe 1/8" to 3/32" high. Your knives will be enhanced by a classy understated logo. The font could be old English or script to be a little different . Don't make the lines too thin or they will be harder to etch. Just my opinion. Larry

The very first knife you have pictured with the orange wrapped handle and J.J.TODD on it looks the best. I like the simple font the best, nothing too fancy or distracting. Should be able to just get a stencil like that to etch it on the tang rather than stamp it.

Let's give this a try

I like the top one. May I suggest you print one actual size and cut out the piece and lay it on one of your knives and look at it for a while? Try a few fonts before deciding. It should please YOU because after all they are your knives. Larry PS I have used this logo for the last 7 years so of course I would recommend using your last name for a mark. LL

I spend some of my time designing logos for a living, and IMHO the JT box design up-thread is solid. Looks refined and considered.

Just slapping some type on, set in a random font from the internet, always looks a bit halfassed to my eye.

Just my $0.02

Devil's advocate, contradicting my last point: when you squint a bit, the box logo looks a tad like a swastika...

I origanial designed the box so it could be easly stamped. Being square in nature and .300 in each side made for a good solid stamp design. But if people can't tell it's mine then the only way for it to work is if I become huge and everyone knows my logo :jerkit:
