Logo Help or opinions por favor

^ Yup - I agree - you have a winner. Nicely done Marc  with a good start from Mr. B. himself.
Very satisfying conclusion. :)

I agree Marc's version looks great. You could adapt it to use your font instead too. Feel free to send it to me for testing when done! I'm still up for it! :D

Thanks MB. I was wondering who was going to test out the new logo.
I probably will adapt it a bit still, but I really like what Marc did. This community is the best!

Hey MB, I am going to be doing a pass-around on a proof of concept knife I am making for someone. It's not a conventional blade at all, being single bevel like Yanagi. If you are interested let me know.
You can see it in this video in rough form. I still have to finish some grinding and get a handle on it. I'll be making a couple more once this one is done and tested out. It might even have the new logo!

(I used to laugh at all the pics of the knife-makers hands (beat up, black, and cut). Now I laugh at my own).

So InkScape! I am pretty happy to have found this app thanks to Marc's pointers. VECTOR IMAGES!
I was able to redesign and provide print ready art to my new stencil maker, Patricia at IMG (who is awesome to work with by the way, did I say that already?).
This is what I ended up with for now. I may change it, but I'm going to try this out on some knives.

But let me say a little more about Inkscape. There are other posts about using this app for knife design, but I hadn't seen them until I went looking for them this morning.
If you have a little bit of computer skills you can use this to not only design your logo art, but also to design knives.
I scanned in an image of one of my old blades and was then able to rework the entire profile front to back, saving iterations along the way.
I like paper and pencil well enough, but this is so much quicker, easier to move things around, and I think I can start reducing my huge stack of disorganized design paperwork.
This is a free app, and there are a TON of YouTube videos on how to do most of the functions you would want.
Check it out if you have a mind.
You can 'trace' a pic that you pull into the app to get a black and white image of it. Then start messing.
I also use Paint.net which is another free graphic editor. Some functions are easier for me, so I use both.

Before and After messing in Inkscape (just an example of what you can do. YMMV).

When one looks to the great master artists, their art declares their name, their name does not distract from the art but it is there if you look for it in the usual place bottom corner left or right. Younger photographers are now considering their names the art and proudly display it large and almost center of the photograph.

Looking to Lovelass's first knifes he had a nude on both sides of the knife and that image, to me, became the focal point of the knife, not its lines. He evolved to a smaller his name and location, or just name, which is a classic now among great knife makers.

I do like your logo, but to me it is becoming the focus of the blade as art, and not the knife. It is what first catches my eye. I hope this helps.
