LOGO input

I have used a certain logo for the first several of my knives, but I am wondering if it's good or not. I wanted to ask for input here on which way I might should go in ya'lls opinion--so here's the first couple of designs I came up with, the ones I have had a few made from Blue Lightning, are the triangular styled one on the right.

I also have a pretty unique middle name, and I have thought about asking for some help on incorporating it into a logo--my middle name is CARRICK
so just asking for some opinions and input.

Thanks--Don

Explain the logo to us. What/who is BF?

If your name is Don Fish (eg.), why not use that so people know who made the knife. Or use something like "FISH KNIVES".

Don, like you I wanted a logo on my blades, the one shown in my avatar or whatever you call it, but taking Stacy's advice (and plenty others), I went with "S Davenport". That way my name is on the knife, and in hindsight I am so glad I went that route. Those squiggly lines you have, and the sideways triangles....I would highly reconsider.

How about a simple "fish" symbol with "Don" in the middle, or above?

I guess I would be cautious about using a "Fish" logo, especially if your name is Don. You don't want to infringe on Don Hanson's mark or logo.

OK guys, I guess I didn't include enough information in my initial post. The BF you see behind those is from Brand First, and those are just proofs from Brand First, the are two d's in two different formats--My name is Don C. Davis, so thus the double D's. It's a long story how I ended up with the nickname Fish, but suffice it to say I only use it on internet forums, always as Fish30114--fish plus my zip code.

I have put the dual triangle looking mark on a few blades, and it looks OK, I also wanted to include my middle name in this post, because it is pretty rare, I wanted ya'lls input as to whether I should try and come up with something that included it.

Hope this clears it up a bit.

Thanks---Don

Took me a sec to realize the BF was not the mark, but I have to say I didn't get DD out of either one. squiggles and triangles, maybe a sideways tent.

Brand First's own logo doesn't give me confidence in their designers.

woodwrkr, that's the kind of input I am seeking, to be honest I thought just using my name like that 'Carrick Knives' was to simplistic--maybe I should rethink that.

Fish, If you use your name in your logo you can always change your logo later and still have your knives known as yours by the name. You can always use a cool symbol or graphic with your name and still have your knives known as yours. Just a thought. Most people identify the knife by the maker especially if the knives are nice. My opinion again. Larry

Larry and woodwkr, good thoughts, I appreciate them. Always some good thoughts around here.

Thanks for that Larry, kind of makes me think my double triangle mark ain't that bad!!

Appreciate the help brother.

I'm with Larry 100% on this. Nailed it.

Shoot Karl, I'll have to look at my birth certificate, I do use DC Davis on some documents from time to time.
Matthew and Larry, I have drawn up about a dozen different options, and SWMBO likes one that has my middle name in a stylized font with 'BLADES' in the middle.

I think I'm getting closer--Thanks for the input folks!

Longevity is important as you really don't want to change it later. Your blades will be identified by that logo for next 10-20-30 years.

I was in the same boat.. started out with something overly complex and doing research and talking to some makers, simplified it down to a small icon (fleur-de-lis) + last name. Bonus for me is one of the fleur pedals is my first initial in the same font as my last name. but to be honest nobody really picks up on that, even my close friends.. *shrug*.
