Logo on Damascus

Do you all do anything different when you etch your logo on Damascus? I tried it on a knife after the etch and my logo barely shows up. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I etch my logo before I etch the damascus. Then I mask it with nail polish and then etch the damascus.

I had the same issue on my first damascus blade. My logo is just my name in block letters much like my old stamp. I am thinking about not only electro etching it very deep this time, but also "scribing" or burnishing it a little bit to get it nice and silvery and then filling the letters with clear nail polish before I etch the damascus. Opinions?

The last few I have done I etched the blade down to where I wanted it, then etched and marked then hit with 2000 grit paper wrapped over something hard and it turned out great. You can see it in this picture. -Burton

That's what i've done the last few times I etched damascus. Etch the blade, then etch my logo then go over it with very fine sandpaper to sharpen the edges
