Lone Falcone from TOPS Knives

Another great one Mist (so what else is new, eh? :D) Looks like a great "combat knife".

I think that's where they based the Canterbury's Pathfinder School knife right?

Thanks, and yeah, I think it would be.

Quite possibly. This one is very similar to the Pathfinder School Knife, it's just a good bit larger.

Great, comprehensive review! Have you needed to sharpen it yet? The only knife I had with a blade that thick was a Cold Steel Trailmaster, which I found difficult to sharpen up near the tip. Is the Falcone's edge manageable on a Sharpmaker or Lansky-type system?

Thanks!
Tim

I haven't used it enogh to need to sharpen it just yet. I am not sure about those systems...I just use small stones and small ceramic rods in the field. I have a couple of small Lansky sharpeners that came with TOPS knives, I'll try to find one of them and check it out.

I want the apache falcon..It's this knife with the rocky mountain handle haha.

Yep, looks like the same design but with RMT handle scales, and a grey blade. I love the RMT scales, a few of the TOPS knives I have came with them.

Forgive my OCP kicking in, but is it FALCON...or FALCONE? You've mentioned FALCON several times and I'm curious if TOPS misspelled their own product. Thanks for the great pics.

Yup, another fine review. But I must say, I thought for a second or two that you were going to test its glass breaking capabilities! :D I saw the butt of the knife by a nice new window, and I was thinking "man alive, he gets more dedicated and detailed with every review!".

Seriously, nice job. I have handled a few of the TOPS brand knives and really admire their fit and finish. I really like some of their designs, too. Some of their strange advertising aside, I have never understood why they aren't more popular.

Thanks -

Robert

Sorry, it's Lone Falcone. It's their knife so any misspelling in this thread has been on my part. Thanks, I need to correct that.

Glad you enjoyed the photos.

Thanks Robert. Lol, I hope I never have to break my window...but you never know :)

I have been wanting to go to a scrap yard and see if I could find a car in a quite corner somewhere I could just go off on with a few tools.

They do always have great F&F in my opinion, and I have always been very happy with their heat treats as well. I think a lot of people out there just don't realize just how diverse the TOPS line up is. It seems many people are caught by surprise by some of the TOPS knives I have found on their website. I think they have some great designs that are very functional as well as tough.

What from I gather the Lone Falcone has actually been replaced by the Apache Falcon in the TOPS line up. I guess it was only still on the website due to still having a few in stock.

By snake blocker? I don't think so.

Lol, you use your second, or maybe even first, post on Blade Forums to revive a five year old thread to say that? I think this model died about the time the SB knife was coming out...
