I had a blast at the Show last week! It was raining heavy, but it seemed like everyone was pretty happy and a big crowd was present on saturday.I talked to great knifemakers and handled lots of beautiful knives until my allergies took over and i completely lost my voice.R.W.Wilson was there and i spent all my cash with him on supplies. He's a cool guy and offered me my first taste of genuine White Lightning!Pretty tasty! He had the jug loaded down with cherries to cut the fire a bit.Come to think of it,maybe THAT'S what happened to my voice! He had a fine handbuilt grinder there for a reasonable price of 1500 bucks.Continued down the line and chatted a bit with Travis Wuertz about his ingenius grinder with a surface grinder attachment.Beautiful thing it is.Several vendors were there with nice grinders.Blew my credit card sky high high with K&G,Tx.Knifemakers, and Charles Turnage. He(Charles) definately brings his best to the shows.Chatted with Warren Osborne and many other of the finest and friendliest knifemakers and vendors in the world.Needless to say ,it was a great day and then some.I sure hope they keep the show in Ft.Worth.Here are a couple pics with a fella you may recognize.I havent heard how his day came out,but he really had some fine knives there.I wanted to go back sunday, but couldnt make it back.

I went on Saturday and had a great time. I was there from 10 - 5 with an hour for lunch and didn't even get around to all the tables! I wish I would have taken more pictures but here are a few

RW Wilson showing me his maple dye - voodo magic trick. His dye does a great job at bringing out the figure in maple. He also showed that if you mix equal parts of Tru Oil and Refined (not boiled) Linseed Oil you can put it on and wipe it off and don't get that dreadded sticky finger syndrome

I watched a bit of the cutting competition at 2:00. Didn't watch the whole thing as it was cold and raining but here is part of it

This is Mel Pardue. I got to spend quite a bit of time talking about him and his success over the years. He is with his grandson. Those are the grandson's very first knives - they make me sick. But in all fairness he has had a great teacher.

This is the only other picture that I took. It is HORRIBLE quality. Can any of you guess who is in it? I'm talking about the one sitting down. I think he was the only maker wearing a suit.
