Probably longer than I would ever need for the fish that I catch but if you haul in salmon or other large fish this would would work well for you. I have also found a knife like this works great when butchering large game. (removing back straps and slicing round steaks and roasts)
Forged from 52100 steel
Heat treated in my Paragon furnace using three normalizing and two tempering cycles for a Rc of 58-60 and a fine grain throughout the blade.
flat grind with a hand sanded finish to 600 grit
Stabilized spalted maple handle
Overall length: 12 1/2 inches
Blade: 7 1/2 inches
