I made this one is made from 1080 w/2% nickle, it measures 10 5/8'' tip to butt, and just under 3/16'' thick. Blade is flat ground and 6 1/8'' long, handle is 4 1/2'' of crown elk.
Then blade was hardened , tempered and then given a hand rubbed 600 grit finish. The guard is nickle silver, and it has a 600 grit finish.
The base of this section of horn had very little pith, and polished up very clean, could possible be scrimshawed with initials, or what ever you would desire , or just left as is.
