I really love this one. I think we should do a picture thread of BOSS Jacks as a swan song.

If there's a better way to display pics please let me know. It's my first time using the new BFC feature.

That Blue & Black LE is STUNNING! So far, I've only had/ordered CGs, but maybe it's time I consider an LE. Which do you prefer and why?

Is that one with the red-black G10 scales double cut or did it come with a coat that you stripped off?... I like it.
I'll also update this post with my own CG's pictures once it comes in. It's taking FOREVER.

I prefer the LE but the CG is going to be my user. The LE is thinner and I think it looks better with the sabre grind.

It's satin. It's the BOSS Jack Prototype. It says Proto on the right side, opposite where Busse is located on the left.

That looks like a satin proto to me.

Jinx! Which is your favorite of the three? I had two BJ CGs, but my friends stole them after getting their first taste of INFI. Well, they wouldn't give them back after I lent them to them on a camp out we had. I got paid back :D.

I have a BJ CG Jungle w/ black canvas & choil on order. I just can't do choil-less as much as I want to get one. Muscle memory leaves nasty scars.

Could someone who has both please compare/contrast the BOSS Jack and the SAR-6. I believe both have a 6.25" blade and are approximately .22 thick - I really like my SAR-6 as my main day-in-the-woods knife backing up my SAK Forester, but I am intrigued by the BOSS Jack which I've yet to see or handle. Some opinions?
Thanks!

Swan song? Are these going away soon? I hadn't heard...

Both of the production BOSS Jacks are significant improvements over the proto. The grind on the blade and the machining on the scales are big improvements IMO.

Yeah swan song because the Nuclear Meltdown Light Brigade Straight Handle Battle Mistress is on deck.

I'm kinda partial to this one I picked up from the Great Easton Travelling Trough Show II...

Please excuse the noise going on in the upper right quadrant...I chopped this out of a larger comparison pic and Lightroom is a bit limited when it comes to cloning out stuff. :o :)

is there any way you could do something like this for the three blades? It does require either a micrometer or a set of calipers. I used excell, but you could use microsoft wordpad if nothing else. I limited mine to 1" because thats as far as I can safely get with my calipers. If not, awesome pics :D

I can do this tonight, as I have both blades. They're very similar with the biggest difference being the weight of the SAR-6. Combined with its handle design, as you know, you can hang back on the handle and chop with it. The boss jack lacks this ability (IMO) because its lighter and the handle has no real downward hump like the SAR-6, which keeps it in place when you swing. Otherwise I find them identical, equally adept at just about every task. Basically the weight would be both the advantage and disadvantage for both knives depending on the task.
