I am looking for recommendations on books that deal with a sort of long term first aid. I am putting together a disaster kit and want an easy to use first aid book I could throw in with the first aid kit. I am currently an EMT, and most of the books and knowledge I have deal with treatment and packaging a patient for immediate delivery to a hospital. I am looking for something that my family and I can depend on for information when a hospital may not be available for quite a while. Can anybody recommend any easy to use (small) guides?

While "Long term" and "First Aid" are somewhat of a contradiction of terms, this may be a good start...
ST 31-91B: US Army Special Forces Medical Handbook
Google it and you will be able to download it for free from somewhere if you wish to check it out before buying it...

the best book i have found so far and the only one i have is: " backcountry first aid and extended care" by buck tilton.. that dude is the man.. he is one of the co-founders of NOLS (national outdoor leadership school) and wilderness medicine institute... http://www.cardinalgear.com/it1234.html

i had a wilderness first responder cert. for about 11 years, all of teaching was through NOLS and WMI... great folks... i highly recommend looking into some classes, even if it's their 2 day wilderness first aid...
