Looking for a longer thin knife, just wanted to get some feed back from the gang. Looking at a pretty big price range of knifes, from:

Steel Will Intrigue, CRKT CEO $40-ish
Broker Urban Trapper $ $100-ish
Ferrum Forge Exec $200+

What are thoughts and experiences people have with these and other knives with this kind of profile.

Check out CRKT Sketch. It has a modified wharncliffe blade that's great for every utility cutting and slicing tasks. You can't go wrong with a Lucas Burnley designed EDC. There is a BHQ Exclusive with D2 steel available around $60.

ZT452, Sketch, spyderco all too stocky. Looking for long and thin blade, more like a steak knife

Had a cocabolo urban trapper, felt too flimsy in hand...
(never actually tested it's durability)

I Traded it...

Loved the shape, size, feel of it so I bought an exclusive damascus, Ti version hoping for more stability (in the Ti handle), and honestly weight vs. all else, it is still my go to dress up fancy gentleman's knife. Wears like a pen in your jacket breast pocket. The full Ti frame, while still not the most sturdy feeling, confidence inspiring handle, is 200x better then then the the wood/cf + liner versions available..

It's like the perfect steak knife in an all so convenient folding knife platform...

I had an Extrema Ratio Resolza that was quite slicey:thumbsup:

My thin and slicey folding steak knife is an Extrema Ratio Resolza. I've had it for years, still happy with it, and it still gets pocket time if I am wearing slacks. I like the modern materials on the updated pattada design, but for the price you could pick up a large handful of Opinels.

Spyderco Resilience beats the Military at this game because it is longer and thinner, and it beats the Endura because it is longer, and despite equal thickness blade stock, it has a broader blade height, and thus more gradual grind. I seem to recall it being a little thinner behind the edge from the factory as well, but don't quote me on that, as my Spydercos typically don't make it more than 24 hours before I regrind them to <.0015" behind the edge. The Police is longer than both, but due to the choil, the Resilience still has more cutting edge length. And if you're going to be banging it against ceramic plates, then between s30V, VG10, and 8Cr13MoV, I'll take the 8Cr all day every day because in my experience it is tougher than s30V, and easier to resharpen than both s30V and VG10. I am not sure how 8Cr and VG10 compare on toughness, but VG10 has impressed me a few times, certainly more than s30V. But 8Cr is highly underrated.

But you might also look into Laguiole, and I also vouch for Opinel.

But for the narrowness and thickness of the blade stock, the Steel Will Intrigue and Intrigue Mini were surprisingly good slicers.

I've had knives with this sort of shape before. They fit into the gentleman's or office carry role for me. Opening letters and such, I like them. For casual EDC, I prefer a taller blade with more belly.

How about the Real Steel Metamorph? There are a few different versions available but this is the basic idea:
