Longest Carry

I carried a SAK tinker at work for 15 years. The main blade has one hell of a recurved edge now.

Henckel premium stockman - purchased in 1962 and carried daily until I got a BM 705 a lttle over a year ago. The Henckel looks used & carried!! :)

Good question!

A hungarian-shepperds knife during those days in shool (It was even confiscatet one time; my father hab to fetch it at the principal's office (got it some minutes later)plus a long time after I finished shool.
Changed to a Spyderco Terzuola on december 9th 1991 which was my EDC till august the 4th 1999 when I got that starmate plain-edge that is (rides in a belt pouch at my hipp).

I carry it every day with the only excepiton during spending holidays in non knife-friendly part's of the world. I got a delica and a SAK (Rucksack) for those occasions.

Greetings

Buck 110...carried it for 30 yrs. on my belt while I was in
trucking. Allways had a SAK in my overnight bag. I recently
had Buck refurbish the 110 and now it looks like new, although the blade is only about 60%.

Until last summer's canoeing trip to France I carried the same knife for nearly fifteen years - not daily, but always when on the road.

The knife is a relatively inexpensive C. Herbertz lockback with brass bolsters and brown micarta slabs. It's 6 1/4 inches long total, very solidly made, and it has been sharpened many, many times (mainly because of abuse, not normal wear).

The blade has the "Eduard Kettner" logo on it, with the words "explorer knife". Thanks to innumerable drops and throws, blade play has become insufferable, so I don't carry it any more. I would, though. It was a gift from my dad, who bought it for me in Germany, to replace a cheapo Buck 110-imitation that I had lost.

Dad also bought me numerous SAKs but somehow I managed to destroy them all. Maybe that's why I still don't have any SAKs but a Leatherman (which I just got back from service, had ALL the blades including pliers replaced, free of charge, naturally).

That small folder has been through three continents, up many mountains and at least once it probably saved my life. So maybe it's out of fear of losing it that it's now in the drawer.

My longest carry knife is an EKA-Swede slip joint knife from 1988, featuring Sandvik 12C27 steel.

Cool thread.
I have a SAK Classic that was on my key ring for 13 years, three of those since one of the handle scales broke off. Now it rests in my desk at work and is used to trim nails and the like. Also, I lived in the Czech Republic from 93-'98 and carried a locking SAK Adventurer the whole time. Now it's the truck knife.
I love getting new knives but at the same time, I hate to see old ones put out to pasture when they still have some life left in 'em. :( Something tells me the knife is bummed to be relegated to the drawer. I tend to think that very few of us actually wear our knives out. It's too easy, and too tempting to just replace 'em with the latest greatest innovation once they've got a scratch or two on 'em.

A Randall Gilbreath liner lock in my pocket & a Terzuola liner lock clipped to pocket every day since around 1988

I've carried my BM AFCK everyday now for over 8 years. I've just not found another knife that come as close to perfect for me. I'm hoping to replace it soon with either the MT Amphibian or an Axis lock AFCK. That is, if either of these knives becomes a reality:rolleyes:
