This is a historical type piece..It as an antiqued finish on the scales and all the flats were left as they were off the sawblade..
The steel comes from a very old sawblade..I cant say for sure on the steel but Im guessing something like 1080 + 2% nickle..I know it makes a good knife steel..The heat treat was a 7 minute soak at 1475* and quenched in fast oil, then tempered.. Flat ground with a long taper. Thin and very sharp..The scales are curly maple..Note the curl dosnt really match, Im sure the scales were from two different trees..Stained with aqua fortis and finsihed with boiled linseed oil and wax..The blade is 7" long and 1 1/8" wide at the heel..the knife is 11 1/2" long overall..
The sheath is made from 8oz leather..The belt loop is held in back with a copper rivet..The sheath is hand sewn..Coated with several heavy coats on Neatsfoot oil...It has a removable keeper loop..The slide is a piece of sandbar stag and the buttons are whitetail antler tips..
We are asking ***SOLD**
Thanks
