Hey BF gadgeteers & gearheads.....let me begin by stating DO NOT GET INTO WATCHES!!!! OK, now that I got that out of the way, here is an absolutely fantastic watch for sale, if it's too late and you're already into watches or if you don't follow the sage advice of your elders.
So, I finally received my new Hanhart 417 ES chronograph from Watchbuys a few days ago, after a serious bit of delayed gratification from pre-order to delivery. Now that it’s here, and definitely looking like a keeper, I’ve got to let one go. With some reservations, I guess it’s going to be my fantastic sunray blue-dial Longines Spirit 40mm, if only because I’m trying to go for a little variety in my small collection, and I think I’ve got the Arabic number, pilot-inspiration watch thing covered now with my Hanhart 417 ES (plus a little Steve McQueen vibe thrown in for good measure).
Anyway, this Longines Spirit 40mm is such a great watch. It just nails down so many great aspects for an everyday watch, with style to burn and toughness thrown in, to boot. Then add COSC-certified accuracy, absolutely stellar lume, 100m water resistance, large screw-down crown (with a buttery smooth winding action), 64 hours power reserve, a brand with fantastic heritage and history, most of the 5 year AD warranty remaining…..yeah, this is a REALLY nice watch!
This Longines Spirit is in excellent condition, which is about right because although I’ve worn it in rotation fairly often, it’s pretty much always been inside. I originally bought it as LNIB on r/WatchExchange (aka "the crackhouse") on December 20th, less than a week after I broke my right tibia in a workplace accident at my EPA Superfund groundwater remediation site, and I was stuck inside for four months of recovery. Although I’m now ambulatory (with a limp) and doing fieldwork again, I had wanted to keep this Longines Spirit in great condition, so I’ve never worn it outside as a field watch (although it would be a damn good one).
In addition to the very nice OEM bracelet, I’m also including two terrific straps, one of which is a (pricey - $178 retail) Hirsch SPEED Calfskin Deployment Watch Strap in blue with white side stitching and a Crown & Buckle Supreme NATO in “blonde” colorway, with single-pass option.
I’m asking $1950 for full kit, plus straps mentioned above. Payment by PayPal G&S (I will discount substantially with payment by PayPal F&F - the vast majority of my sales & purchases on reddit watchexchange are with PayPal F&F, all with overwhelmingly positive feedback). Shipping will either by USPS Priority or UPS Ground and fully insured.
