Lonnie does 0 shows. I've know Lonnie for several years and as far as I'm concerned his hawks are the best. Thats saying alot since I'm some of his compitition. If your interested in one of his hawks I'm pretty sure he has a couple forsale on Bladegallery.com.. While your there you can take a look at mine.
I would LOVE to have one of Lonnie's 'hawks. I'll probably talk the wife into letting me spend that much for another 'hawk sometime before I die.
I had an observation about a few of his 'hawks, though, while looking at his stuff at BladeGallery. It looks like he partially sharpens the leading (proper term for the top of the blade?) and hooking edges of some of his tomahawks. Is this a functional sharpening, or a false sharpening (for looks)? I really like the way it looks on those traditional tomahawks, though I think I'd only want the hooking edge sharpened because I'd use the top edge of the blade to "lever" the 'hawk out of a target and wouldn't want it to bite deeper.
Anybody have any insight about this?
Also, from what I have heard, Lonnie's 'hawks are some of those pieces of artwork that you know you can use instead of just hang on the wall. Kind of like the one I had made for me...
