I got my first 2 fixed blade knives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After a lot of reading on these forums I decided to go with the Becker BK7. While ordering the BK7 on Amazon I decided to throw in the BK11 as well. I am very excited about these 2 new knives. My only other knife is a ZT folding knife. I am planning on lashing the BK11 to the strap of my backpack and will probably find a place for the BK7 in the backpack or possibly on my belt. I wrapped the BK11 in some black and OD paracord after watching a few tutorials on youtube.

I also picked up a HF belt sander and ordered some belts online which I've been practicing with on some cheap knives. After I get better I plan to put a convex edge on both of the BKs. Still not sure if I want to strip the black finish and patina these guys or not.

I did do quite a bit of hiking/exploring through Shawnee. There's a lot of places to go get "lost" out there.

Just got done convexing the 2 Beckers and now they both have a mirror finish on the edge and are slicing through paper like butter. I will be stripping them soon and doing a forced patina on em...I think the addiction has already taken hold!

Sweet knives, they should serve you well! A word of advice about using a belt grinder, or any power tool, on heat-treated steel: be VERY careful. The speed at which a belt grinder turns can heat up a blade pronto. I recommend dunking the blade in a vat of cold water after each pass, especially if you grind off the black coating. Other than that, enjoy the process and knives.

Sweet man, I started with a similar combo, a 9 and 11. Now I have a tweener that should be here monday Have fun not being able to stop yourself from customizing lol...A BK 7, 11, and a HF sander...you've officially been infected.
