Look at what the mailman brought me!!!

Well Yesterday I had to play around a little with the BK7. Chopped through a 2x4 a few times and batoned some firewood from the pile next to my friends house. After finishing those tasks the blade was still happy to slice through paper like it was hot butter.

OMG I love this knife!!!!
 
Sweet knives, they should serve you well! A word of advice about using a belt grinder, or any power tool, on heat-treated steel: be VERY careful. The speed at which a belt grinder turns can heat up a blade pronto. I recommend dunking the blade in a vat of cold water after each pass, especially if you grind off the black coating. Other than that, enjoy the process and knives.

I have been touching the blade after every pass to feel if any heat is building up. I haven't used the water bath but I have never felt the blade get even remotely warm. Thanks for the heads up though! :)
 
It's great that you got both of those at the same time. I'd like to see what you end up doing with the sander.
