I was just out in the backyard and noticed a sparrow fly away from the patio area near where I was walking. I figured it might have a nest somewhere, being that time of year. So I start looking up at the roof of the patio expecting a nest and realize about a foot away from my face there is a hanging tea candle lamp with pine needles sticking out of it. I take it off it's hooking expecting to just see a nest and, holy moley a nest full of chicks!

Wow, that's awesome!!!
I seen a few nests with eggs, but I've never seen chicks in one, thanks for sharing!

Aww, that is awesome! I've never been that close to a nest with chicks in it. That must be really cool.

I heard it said that when birds nest at your house it brings good luck to you... That is awsome.

We have a small awning over our front door that annually hosts a nest on each side- Carolina Wren on the left and Purple Finch on the right- not three feet away from each other.

We feel lucky to have them. :)

One week later. I sneaked up on them while they were asleep to get a pic.

Then they woke up.

They are a lot larger and have much fuller feathers than last week

Just found a robin that made a nest on one of the window ledges at work. No babies yet, just 3 eggs. Will be fun to keep an eye on.
