Looks a lot like the HEST/f.

Wonder if Lion Steel is making both? Now I have to buy two :)

Yes they are made by lion steel, but I don't think the esee will have the roto block. Jeff posted pics on esee forum and it's 4 pages long last I saw it

Oh crap, I didn't even see that post. There's too many stickys at the top of that page.

Meh, guess its old news then.

Yea they said it probably wont have the Rotoblock as they did not like the feature after testing it for a few weeks. Not sure what they did not like about it yet....

then what's the round dealie on the lock side?

obviously, this is just a prototype, and they could eliminate the roto block completely, but i don't see any reason why they would. OK, just read the ESEE thread where Jeff says probably no rotoblock.

nice looking knife, but i'm not sure if i'm up for buying another high end folder without a flipper. i like spidey holes, or similar holes for opening, i really like flippers... not so keen on thumb studs.

if a manufacturer doesn't want to license the round hole from Spyderco, just elongate it by one or two hundredths of an inch. or make it 20 sided or whatever. plenty of ways to make it function similarly without needing to pay for a round hole.
