Hello to all.
Here is something a little unusual with the handle material inlayed into the sheath. It is something I have been doing for years off and on. There is a good example of a hard material inlay I did for Todd Begg in the 2011 Knives annual on page 83. Anyway this knife is something I love to do because it is more difficult and to me looks great. I really enjoy the art side of knife making, and trying to do something different and inovative.
The Blade is CPM 154 CM .136 thick and 3.5 in. from tip to guard. O/A is 7.5 in. Hardness is 60-61 with cryo treatment in very timely manner and tempered 2 hrs 2 times. It has been mirror polished. VERY!! SHARP!!
Guard is 416 stainless silver soldered flawlessly.
Handle is Curly Koa with mammouth ivory accents and carved aircraft aluminum spacers. The ivory plug in the pammel is ancient walrus. This handle design is so comfortable that you will find it hard to put down.
The sheath is hand tooled and hand stitched leather with an inlay of curly koa. It is very securly built in and can not come out. The knife fits into the sheath with a snap fit that holds it securely yet is easy to withdraw. This design is great if you want to inlay the ivory of your Bull into the wood of the sheath. I have done it a couple of times and it looks Great!! It could also be a great place to inlay the end of the casing to your favorite Rifle. I hope you like it and thank you for looking. Alan
I am asking (SOLD) plus $15.00 shipping conus.
I can accept paypal.
