Look to buy a new one and want to know opinions (just for fun)

wow that's a mouthful, but a good looking knife. I tend to favor the patterns with blades on the same side (an odd aesthetic thing for me) I do like the scales on that though ill have to look for some.

Those handles are available on trapper and copperhead pattern knives too, although I think that small shield looks a bit out of place on those larger patterns and fits the pen knife much better.

what size trapper does it come on?

I haven't looked since yesterday, but I think it was available in a couple of different trapper models. Maybe the regular trapper, mini trapper, and slimline trapper. I'm not allowed to give a link 'cause that'd be advertising, but I saw them online at the "world's largest Case dealer."

The SBJ. IMO, it is one of the better Case knives to be put out in a while.

I have both the swayback jack, in chestnut with cv blades, and a peanut, in chestnut with cv blades. I would go for the swayback in a heartbeat. However, I would tell ya to get both, forget a happy marriage, you need knives :D!

Well, I own a Peanut in SS. But not SBJ, but a SBG. That´s the single bladed version of the SGJ without a penblade. My SBG is also in 420HC. Te me, the swayback would be the better choice. The handles are bigger and fill better on the hand. And on optics, the end-bolster-free swayback looks nicer than the 'nut. IMO.

Kind regards
Andi

I love the positive influences on here lol! i be sure to explain to my wife that my knife hobby (addiction) is more important than our relationship. I will also post the pics of the aftermath from the ensuing blood bath :D.

Actually in all seriousness she is pretty ok with my knife hobby and even gets into it a bit herself on occasion. we are just saving up for a vacation and trying to cut over excess purchases. so one knife till i can start saving up again after march lol.

This is sadistic, and might cause problems too, but try this. Tell her the SBJ is for you, and the Peanut is for her. After she gets bitten by the Peanut, and gives it back to you, then you have both knives. :D

In all seriousness, you need the SBJ, the SBG and a Peanut.

I tell people it's better to have a knife habit, than a cocaine habit. To the people here who know me, the response from friends is usually that a cocaine habit would be more slimming ;)...

one major flaw in the plan, my wife owns knifes as well and works them better than most the guys I know (on here aside) so I would forever lose that peanut and then need to buy yet another lol. While i am all for the purchasing of more nice knives my funds are not endless and my taste is expensive (thanks to the fine folk of BF)

the peanut is a very small, cute, but capable knife, light, easy to carry, and packs quite a blade for such a tiny knife.
the sbj, though i don't have it..yet, but hopefully will someday, seems like a medium to small knife, beautiful, and very well made from what i keep hearing.
the main blade is thicker and a bit longer than the peanut, but is much bigger over all, and heavier, only as compared to the peanut, of course, because it ain't that big by itself either.
they are very different knives, and you should get them both, as should i. But now, get the sbj if you can, i guess a peanut is somewhat easier to get later, costs less.
I knew when i bought the peanuts that i will want the sbj too, and i suspected i would have wanted the peanut if i choose the opposite..
so, i went with the peanuts, still want the sbj, at least to try it, or is it because im a knife nut ? :D
