I'm considering rebuilding it. If I do it would be quite the process and I'm almost positive that the temper is ruined. It's just waaayy too soft (I definitely think this was in a fire). I might end up rebuilding it just to look at if nothing else

Yeah that sucks if it's too soft. Maybe a fancy "gum on the bottom of your shoe" scraper?

Hell, send it in on warranty. Tell them it's been humid out. Oh, and there's been a swell in the termite population.... To explain the missing handle of course. I'm sure that's covered.
