Look what just floated in from the bay !!!

Ok, I looked at my 3 dot 111 model again
and it does have the 'script Buck' on the rear bolster. So, my error.
Habbie, nice set. Who kept the original 111 blade ? DM

I don't know, David, but 334Dave may answer the question.
He gave me the knife some years ago.

But the clip point blade doesn't fit to the other classics.

Ok, thanks . Yes, I understood your reasoning on the replacement . Did the rest of the series come out after the 111 4dot ? Because in my 1985 catalog it shows the other three (10, 13 & 15 ) without the 111 so, I was wondering ... DM

David,
1981 shows the The Classic as a new knife.
1982 shows all the four Classics.
1983 was last time the 111 classic was shown together with the Classic II, III and IV.
After this time you find only the smaller Classics.
1988 was the last catalog with the small Classics.
I don't know when Buck changed from three dot to four dot.
Best,
Haebbie

Thanks. Richard Matheny, stated in a previous thread that the 2dots extended into 1980. Hence, the 3dots would have come out after them the same year and were mfg. for 'about' a year . So, sometime in 1981 the 3dots ended and the 4dots began and were mfg. for longer than a year . I've read more like two or three ! DM
