I got a call at about 11:55...Fed Ex at the front door buzzing up.
What could it be?

I'd like to put a huge shout out to Thomas at KAI; he's like Santa Claus, except for being real and answering his e-mails. :D
I wanted this knife since release was first announced, but with research funding drying up, there's no way I could have afforded it for at least the next 4 months.

Initial impressions:

Impeccable build quality, as can be expected.
Detent is solid, but not too bad; it will break in over time, and I like the blade to stay shut until I want it anyway.
Wave works very well, better than on my Super CQC-8 actually.
Very smooth action, especially for a blade riding on washers.
Plus, I like that the pivot can be tightened with readily available tools, or even my fingers if need be (when the 0561 loosened its pivot, I had to wait till I got home to a torx bit. The knife still worked just fine, but I couldn't use my fingers to tighten the pivot).

So, all in all I'm very freaking happy today.
Emerson design, Zero Tolerance build quality, and the titanium frame-lock goodness that makes my CQC-12 so sweet, all combined into one awesome knife.

Doing the happy dance, oh yeah.
Yes, it is good to be me. :D

Congratulations...guess this means you won't be selling it any time soon. [emoji13]

Nice new knife!

Surprised the 0561 didn't have a lock failure there. It is common you know. Hopefully you at least spine whacked it before use.

I decided to cut with the edge today; yesterday's muffin torture may have been pushing things. :D

Seriously though, it is a nice knife, and doesn't take up a lot of space in the pocket.
The smooth titanium slab will be easy on pocket seams too, and it's easy to take out without engaging the wave, while being equally easy to use it if one so chooses.

I think they have another winner with this design.
The blade shape is great for general use, and should be able to be sharpened by anyone that has any sharpening ability at all.
I even like the look of the stock scale; the only complaint I ever had about the 0550 was the scale it came with. This one has it all right out of the box.

Congrats man I really love the 0630 as well it strikes the perfect balance between ZT and Emerson.

Excellent knife, great score!!! If I see one at Blade next month, it will be difficult not to snap it up.

It really does blend the two quite well. :)

A great looking knife Stabman. Hopefully it inspires you to write a sequel!

I think it just may...I am feeling pretty inspired right now. ;)

Grab one up!

can i have it? :)

Hell no! Mine, mine, mine mine mine! :D

I have a few cheapies and am having to do the noodle thing - LOL

It shows dedication to the cause.
