I had to go back and check my automobile policy. If you have Uninsured Motorist Insurance on your car, then a busted windshield should be treated the same as if you hit a deer or an act of GOD. I'm insured through Allstate and my deductable is zero when it comes to things like hitting a deer or getting a windshield busted by vandals. I know because I've had one busted windshield and I've hit two deers and I didn't pay a penny for the repairs. You might check into this and hopefully you won't have to pay a penny. Unfortunately, vandalism is not covered 100% on our policy. Thanks for the advice, I did double check after reading this!
 
I had to call the glass company again this morning.... Still no replacement window. I asked the guy why he didn't call me back, after Chuck called at 6:00 pm and we were promised he would call. Installer said he just forgot. I ask him... OK, how much of a discount can I expect today? Well, he said he'd take off $10. I guess that is better than nothing. I told him I was pi**ed because promises were not kept, and I was referred to him as, "being the best"! I went ahead and called other auto glass repair this morning, but could not find a better price. Long story short, the installer PROMISED he'd be here before noon. I told him if he wasn't, he'd be getting another call, and I will be expecting an additional discount. I can't waste 2 days waiting for this guy. A girl's got stuff to do!

(end of Tuesday's rant) Unless he doesn't show up!!
 
This is truely a timely thread. First, Chuck I am sorry for your drama, I know they didn't get anything but I can't imagine how many reports we take for the same type of crap. EVERYONE BEWARE :eek: Please don't leave a hundred CD's in your vehicle, stickers about your system on your windows, anything in plain view, anything of value at all. Tell your kids, tell everyone, it is so simple to be a victim, you really have to do nothing :eek: It happens all the time, just protect yourself and limit your loss :thumbup: c4boar

Sound advice, I cringe when I see stickers advertising goodies within someones vehicle. Foolish.:)
 
No tags, stickers, etc on outside of car....Just a religious symbol.

Anyway, new window has been installed & works magnificently!
I took it for a test-drive and went to drive thru at Arby's!

I guess you should of told the insurance company that a deer jumped through the window.

Just a thought here...I have some kind of "glass clause" in my auto insurance. It costs almost nothing...like $2 a month, and I get my glass repaired and replaced for free. I have done this for at least the last 10 years, with two different insurance companies. Check into it!!
