Using what I have read here and learned from a fellow smith. I used this.....

1095/15n20. 144 layers. 1.25 wide by around 19" long. I finished it today and forged a blade out of some. The blade is in the lime now. Gonna be interesting.

Thanks Bastid. I have forged alot of knives. Just never a complete bar of damascus. After reading information here and learning from another smith. I tried it. I just have one thing to say. In all the information I have read, not one bit of literature said what a pain in the arse making this stuff is. The grinding off scale, the fitting, the rewelding, the cold shunts, the Borax splatter that always gets inside the welding gloves. Yes it was fun. I could have forged an untold amount of stuff in the time I made this. Geez. Now I gotta order more 15n20 just to do it again.LOL
 
Awesome! Now grind into that bad boy so we can see the good stuff:D
