Lookig for a knife for daily use

There are people who are happy with a $5 knife, and others who carry knives upwards of $500 without any thought. It's all relative- For me, and other knife people, the right knife transcends price (in certain applications). And trust me, watches get much more crazy ;)

Haha, that's so called collector/enthusiast.

H1 you mentioned above is this?

Take a look at the budget knife thread.

At the $10 level, Opinel and Rough Rider are the obvious choices. They are decent knives while most knives at that price level are junk. If a fixed blade is an option, there are some excellent Moras for $10.

If you can bring yourself to spend $20, you can get a Case or Queen small sodbuster, both very good knives by any standard. The Case has the advantage of being available at Lowe's stores nationwide, thus saving on shipping. If you want something more modern, the KaBar Dozier line offers a selection in that price range.

I may have missed a few inexpensive decent quality knives, but I think I got the outstanding values. Most of the other real cheap knives are not worth even the small sum asked for them.

I've bought knives with price ranges from $20-$400. The SAK is still one of the best I've used, one is currently in my pocket. Go for 91mm Alox, those models cannot seriously be too small.

So, most of you here like collecting expensive knives with high value?

Many do, but some of us are poor boys who appreciate good, low cost knives. I've never bought a knife to collect in my life. Every knife I have is a user.

As I have mentioned, there are some very good inexpensive knives, but there is also a lot of cheap junk. There is also some vastly overpriced junk. You can get burned in both the low and high price range. You can also find value in both ranges. Depends on what you need and what you can afford.

Indeed. Also, please keep in mind, quality and value do not always go hand in hard. In fact, they share a correlational existence if nothing else. I like knowing that when I use my knife, I can trust that the lock will NOT fail and cause serious injury. Some people feel that having a whole 10 fingers is greedy I guess.

But how can i recognize that it is a good inexpensive knife or a cheap junk?

A question additionally, I've never seen a knife like this before http://www.tinydeal.com/mini-pocket...se-folding-knife-px66o6-fkt11616-p-10473.html (maybe I am just curious about its shape), can it be used for cutting things as normal? Funny looking, also strange.

The best knife designs look somewhat similar because over the years they have been proven to work well. If you're just looking for anything that cuts, you'd be hard pressed to find something better than a box cutter. And it's cheap!
