Lookin' for a new steel for my fire kit.

I'm just gettin' into fire startin' with a steel and flint, the steel I bought was too hard on the curled part of the C and the tail of the steel broke off.

Any of the old timers know what I'm talkin' about and could maybe help me out?

What kind of help do you need? I can sell you one, or contact Mike Ameling at ameling@oneta.net. Mine has a twisted tail with a curly cue, and I only harden the strikeing section. We both guarantee good sparks. As far as breaking, it happens. Never had one of mine break, but these things are somewhat brittle, if you want good sparks.
