Looking a New Hard Use EDC Folder

Just ran across a full size Griptilian with an S30V blade that I really like the looks of (dealer exclusive).

Para2 is the same size as the 710 closed so might not be the best option. 94x is a great idea
Really? I carry both the 710 and the para2 (and the 943) and the 710 always seems like it's the larger of the two. I guess its that blade to handle ratio on the para2 that everyone talks about.

Almost precisely the same length

and if you throw in closed height, the PM2 is the least compact of the two

That's part of what keeps the PM2 out of my pocket. It's hard to justify when the 710 packs in so much more edge.

Why? What would you suggest?

at that 150 price point and for hard-use it will be tough to beat the Gayle Bradley. i'd carry mine more but my day to day work really requires a stainless steel. cold steel american lawman should be a consideration as well. not as elite a steel but it's a very useful blade shape/size and is as solid as they come

I have a Doug Ritter Griptilian and just acquired a ZT 350. These 2 knives are almost identical except for the locking and opening mechanism and handle material. The ZT has an assisted flipper and liner lock with beefy steel liners under G10 scales. The Griptilian has the axis lock, skelitized liners and "plastic" scales. This makes the ZT feel like a brick, weighing over 50% more than the Griptilian. That extra weight gives the false impression that the ZT is a better hard use knife, however, I don't believe that is necessarily the case in the real world. You could probably use the ZT as a ladder rung without fear, otherwise they are pretty eqaul.
As an EDC, I would pick the Doug Ritter Griptilian.
