Looking at a 9mm carbine, any suggestions?

if ya think that has some recoil i have a couple ya outta give a try lol........

Let me loan you my M44 for a day. You'll never worry about 9mm recoil again. :D

I had a Ruger PC9 for a time, and it is a nice little rifle. Built like a tank; I wouldn't hesitate to spear somebody with it or smack them with the stock if necessary.

Having said that, I traded it for a Keltec in .40.

The Ruger was TOO heavy, IMO. It also kicked way out of proportion to the round and weight of the weapon. Ruger must have put a 5 lb. bolt in that gun. It left marks on my shoulder after every session.

When I bought it, magazines were expensive and tough to find. Probably not so much the case now...

The Keltec is really a nice little rifle. It folks up in a small package, kicks less than the Ruger even in .40!, and it uses Glock mags which are cheap and plentiful. Not as sturdy as the Ruger, but much lighter and handier.

As somebody else said, the Keltec in 9 can use the big stick Glock mags for excellent capacity, and 9 is the cheapest centerfire ammo going right now.

If you want a tank of a carbine that is battle proven, and a lot of bucks, buy an Uzi. I have one and highly recommend it.

The Storm is also great, I have one and highly recommend it.

Also if you happen to have a Glock 9mm you can buy a coversion to make it a carbine here: http://www.mechtechsys.com/
I don't have one but have read some promising things about it. For about $350, it is a good price.

issues with all of the pistol/carbine choices is lack of mag capacity, for the same money as a Storm you can find a AR in 9 mm if that is what you want nad then get 32 and 44 round mags relatively easy. And then you are half way to getting a real carbine in a .223.... just my .02,

As far as the 9 mm being the best ever, ahhhhhhh no.

It maybe cheap to shoot, abundant and low in recoil, but it is certainly not the best handgun cartridge ever.

Stay away from the Hi=Points. Their is too much QC/ reliability variability to be desireable. Some run fine, others jam all the time. Also, many parts come loose under firing.

I shot a Beretta Storm once, and it was enjoyable.

The Ruger PC-9 is a really nice rifle, especially with a red dot.
