Looking at a fixed blade...

Here it is.
Looks good, I still think the handle could use another inch.

We'll see if I actually carry it šŸ¤”
Congrats! I've had a few Bradford Guardian 3's. Great knife! Just too small for my needs.

However, do not throw that at a tree. You risk breaking it since it is hardened to levels, and not designed for, the forces involved in throwing.

Over the past two years I have completely switched over my fixed blade collection to smaller, edc sized blades. I’ve really come to realize and appreciate how much better a fixed blade is than a folder. Stronger, faster draw, and generally cheaper… What’s not to love?

IMO, a small fixed blade knife (3ā€- 4.5ā€ blade) + taco style kydex sheath + UltiClip Slim = PERFECTION. This combo is almost always in my right front pocket nowadays. I hardly carry any of my 30+ folders anymore. Even in gym shorts I carry a fixed blade instead. I really only carry a folder when Iā€˜m feeling super guilty about neglecting my babies.

G3 is one of my favorite edcs! Perfect pocket size knife. If you want a bigger handle, the G3.5 or G4 would be perfect for you, especially the G3.5. I’d also recommend a kydex sheath over the standard Bradford leather sheath, but I guess that’s just preference. I just don’t enjoy horizontal belt carry.

Here’s my daily driver G3 Wharnie in V4E. Honestly one of my top 3 favorite knives that I own.

I often stick my Benchmade Puukko 200 in my jacket pocket when going out for a stroll (currently around -30šŸŒØļø). 3V steel and Santoprene grip (better than micarta IMHO, especially in the cold). Not quite to your specs but maybe close enough. The original sheath sucked so I used it as a pattern and made a better one out of heavier leather.

I've pretty much run out of folders that I want to buy and have been buying fixed blades almost exclusively recently.

That said, the only fixed blade that I'll usually carry is a Bastinelli Pika which is the smallest of the 56 fixed blades that I own but I still always carry a folder on me as well.

I do think I would've liked a little more to hold onto.
Kinda regret not opting for the 3.5 or 4 model.
I really like the feel of a leather sheath which is partly why I went with bradley.

Really like your wharncliff, great looking knife.

I saw your post with a pic of your bastinelli Pika.

I really liked it even with the smaller size it looks like a easy carry.
Especially for its intended purpose of ripping through orange peels.

For fixed blades, I’d recommend starting with something light and compact-sized. And comfortable for you, of course. That way, you’re more likely to carry it. šŸ˜… This Kansbol gets some carry time in my front pocket.

I have a lot of fixed blades....here's a great one that I have on order but a short time before it's produced.

This made me think of my Benchmade 100RR, which I have used in the past as a carry knife because of its small size. The blade is 3.25ā€ from the point of the scales to the tip.

I didn’t take a pic of the backside of the sheath, but it has a chromed lash tab clip on it.

That’s a nice pattern, good all-around utility knife.
