Hi, gonna treat myself to a new folder, probably tomorrow. Not about need, just want something nice and new.
I have knives that will do what either will do, but I did a catering and want a momento of my efforts.
Anyone who has one or both please chime in. Pretty sure they will both be nice to have but if there is a winner I would love to know about it.
Thanks for reading and thanks for your thoughts in advance...

It's hard to go wrong with the Bowie, but if you the king of guy who likes to sit and open your knife for pleasure, it's not very exciting. It's not a Spydy flick kind of knife, but it's smooth as butter with a standard thumb opening. I love the feel in hand and the blade shape just works for me. I wasn't overly impressed with the factory edge but I rarely am. XHP takes a fine polished edge and retains it really well if you're good at sharpening.

I know you didn't ask, but the Liong Mah Warrior 1 tends to knock most out of my pocket each day. Size, feel, and flipping action is superb.

I only have the Slysz so can only comment on that.
Here's the comment:
Buy one.

To be a little more helpful, it took me a long time to pony up for the Slysz because it's so expensive, especially with the exchange rate I have to cope with. End result, I am very glad I got it. The well known Taichung quality is there in spades, and the size/weight/feel/blade shape are all very much in the goldilocks zone for me, and it is sooo smooooth.
I like the XHP. If I could pick the blade steel myself it would be something else, likely true of most of us. However the XHP is working well for me, seems very similar to S30V for edge retention and touches up easily on the SM.
I like hardened steel inserts on my ti lockbars. The Slysz makes me recognize it's simply not needed.

There's lots on stuff on the interweb about the Slysz that explains the knife more effectively than I ever could.

Still, that 804 does look really good too...

I dont have either, but just based on the looking I will go with the ZT.

I waited a while on getting a Slysz. Recently picked one up. Out of the box, great, Sabenza smooth. Even so, I still disassembled, mirror polished & Nano oiled the washers, put a 15º mirror polished edge on that beautiful blade...and WOW. Now it is a free dropper that thumb flicks open like it's on IKBS. And it's an amazingly solid, strong but still lite & thin knife to carry. A true pleasure. A great slicer. A great size. A great design. SO glad I (finally) went for it.

There s always a temptation to ask questions like that.
I personally fight that temptation, being somewhat frugal and always on the lookout for bargains.
(Look at the Spyderco Southard)

Slysz Bowie is one of the finest folders ever made. I prefer it to my Sebenza's, no joke.

That is saying a lot coming from you.

I will have to look into getting one of these now.

Gee thanks a lot for that expensive info Ofiicers Match! LOL!

A $5 gas station knife will "cut stuff". So why does anyone buy anything more than a $5 gas station knife? We knife-nuts have our reasons.:D

That is a bit too harsh. I will certainly not put a military in the same category as a $5 gas station knife. He actually asked a legit question, esp. if we compare the ti millie with the bowie (their prices are not that hugely different).

I think you missed my point...OR...maybe my comment made my intentions unclear. The Military is a great knife. I was just trying to convey that there are lots of reasons folks buy certain knives vs. others, aside from just the ability to cut stuff effectively vs another knife's ability to cut stuff (thus the $5 knife comment)...aesthetics, materials, size & weight preferences, particular favorite makers, reputation, build quality, etc. etc. No intention to offend.
