Looking at buying 1 of two very different knives please help >__<

My gf wants to get me a gift for my B-day and knows that I have basically purchased all of the knives on my "wish list" except 2. Both happen to be Cold Steel products the SRK in the cpm-3v or the Cold Steel Nightfall 3v Magnum Tanto lX(13QMBlX) also in cpm-3v.

I have not found enough reviews on the Nightfall Magnum Tanto especially long term tests... I like the SRK for field use but have always wanted a cool long tanto with guard.. please just share your thoughts and opinions or reviews on them and what you would pick and why? also please share your thoughts on how you might put the tanto to work in the field be it fighting or if you may use it in the woods...

I had an SRK back in the day. Beat the hell out of it. It's a serviceable piece... BUT...

You can get a bunch of knives that will fill the role of the SRK for a field knife. I've gone through several... AND...

If you want a big ol' black bladed tanto piece with a tsuba, then you get yourself one. You can use it if you want.... OR....

Just have it. There's nothing wrong with having a knife that you just like to own. That one's pretty cool actually. So's a GF who'd buy you one.
 
Just get a Master Tanto. It has a reasonable blade length and a guard.
