Looking at getting a Walther P380 for EDC with my BK24

You're getting a bunch of good advice here. whatever you get , get a bunch of ammo and bring it to a BeckerWest. Dan and I will work on some special things with you saturday night ;) . Have a good holster and belt.

Today I went to the store I saw the walther at. I didn't see the xds last time I was there so I decided to handle that for a bit. Needles to say I got the walther. I was mistaken though it's a pk380. I like it's ethos a lot better than the xds and it's a lot lighter than the m&p I've been carrying. I bought trip boxes of target ammo and I'll be taking it out soon to shoot. I'm hoping that this weekend I'll get a sheath made for it.pictures to come soon. Ok tomorrow.

That's a fine gun. That's a good size for carry, not too big, not too little. I personally don't like "pocket pistols"
I've shot the 22 version and really liked it. I imagine that the 380 would be very similar.

Looks like a good pairing with the BK24. Honestly, every gun purchase needs to be about fit for the user and you can't really go wrong with a Walther. Well...I can't stand the P238, but other than that...

I've actually shot that one and once you get used to the mag release location, it's not too bad. You get the 3-finger grip on it and the trigger is decent. You should hold an XDS with a 7-round mag in it, though. It's a whole different gun at that point!

I actually prefer the paddle release. Great for us lefties, and depending on your hand size, you can use your thumb, trigger, or middle finger to release. Also, won't dump the mag while holstered, if you're using a cheapy holster for some reason.

I wasn't a fan of the XDS. Ergos weren't even in the same league for me.

It's a nice gun I'm happy with it so far. I'm probably gonna take it our next weekend and put a hundred or so round through it. This is actually the same size as the m&p I was carrying just a lot lighter and my hand fits this better. It also came with a laser for the rail on the bottom but I took it off for now until I make my holster for it. That'll get sighed in also. ;) I'm wondering of they make an extended or larger capacity mag for this gun now.
