Looking at the ZT350...

This knife is part of my comparison review over the reviews section. In general, I agree with the chunky feeling, and thus far it's been the *worst* of the 5 knives I tested at most cutting tasks. Still a great cutter and an excellent knife. The thumbstud issue does bother me, but that's something I think I can probably remedy. Right now I'm trying to decide whether it's a good idea to mod it, or leave it stock for resale value, because I'm probably not going to be carrying it much.

I'm sure you've all heard by now, or come to realize, that those do not primarily function as thumbstuds. On the ZT0551, it's a thumbstud/bladestop because there is no other way to flick the blade open. On Striders and ZT flippers (except maybe the 0400, the thumbstuds on those work but I almost never use it since the flipper is there), they're just bladestops and not primarily designed to aid in deploying the blade especially since there are other ways to deploy it via the thumb hole or flipper.

Yep, pretty sure most of us realized that from the get-go. But if they had designed the handle or the stud placement a little better, it would still work as a thumb stud AND as a blade stop. Other designers have managed that. Why not ZT?

Have they changed or updated this knife at all so far?Just want to make sure i get the best version if anything has been done at all, just checking!
