Looking back at Mantis/Quartermaster

Im surprised hes not advertising the car wash with the high tech survailance equipment, multi level antique and classic car museum, and other declassified military security equipment to put customers at ease thinking their cars will be safer in his secure environment.

I'm not sure why Spyderco is being mentioned in a thread about a fraud like Jared West. Sal Glesser has always been 100% open about the fact that models like the Tenacious are made in China.
I mentioned Spyderco because the question was whether a knife maker can successfully make some knives in the US and some offshore, be honest about it, and have the market accept it. Spyderco is an example if a maker doing exactly that.

That's an entirely relevant point, and one I must have missed. I appreciate the clarification.

They can do it because they've been doing it for 40 years.

The new company would need to invest decades of effort into reaching that level of acceptance.

There's no magic in doing that but it sure seems like most people are happier looking for a shortcut to success vs. grinding it out.

Don't you get the newsletter? Not to brag but I have been invited to purchase tickets to the auto museum secret gala many times.
