Looking for a 3-3.5" flipper with a liner lock. Let's say the budget is sub $500 dollars.

Should be more like an office EDC....
Thanks everyone.

ZT 0770CF. Nice size but flat and light, you don't even know it's there.

Maybe a front-flipper from Burger Knives or Clyde Challenor? That would put you right around the $500 mark and would be a nice compliment to your new L51:)

I have the 0770cf and the 0350 and they are very different. The 350 is more of a brute with the feel of a brick. The 0770cf is sleek and classy, feels a lot smaller in hand. And I think you could just de assist it?

Very good info and I thank you.

I suggest an Ontario Rat II. great knife, good steel, well made. Meets all your criteria at half the cost of the other mentioned.

I concur. The ZT 0770CF and the 0450 are the only knives ZT makes in what I consider to be the "gentlemen's knives" category. Overbuilt they are not! :)

The carbon fiber version of the 0770 does not work well de-assisted, or at least mine didn't. Couldn't flip it without a wrist flick.

As Ti framelocks are all the rage, finding a high end liner lock will be difficult. Maybe talk to Alan Davis and see if he can make you a flipper within your range.

BladeHQ still has the S30V CF skylines. a very nice little package right there if the 770CF is not your cup of the

Rubicon- good idea
Not really into de-assisting

Any thoughts on Brous blades? They seem to have some options in that line range.

I can't speak to Brous blades. But have you considered any other locking mechanism besides a liner lock? If you haven't, I'd suggest you take a look at the Benchmade 300-1 flipper with an Axis lock. Here's a borrowed pic:

Just a thought . . . :)

Hogue EX-02
Brous Bionic
Brouse Caliber
Premium Skyline
Spyderco Positron (not out yet)
Spyderco Rubicon

Of all these, the Positron has the most interest to me personally but I'm waiting to get a chance to hear some feedback on them. They're supposed to be out by the end of the year. If they feel less chunky and "blade length challenged" than the Rubicon, they might have a winner!
