Hi y'all I'm looking for some advice. I would like to get a fixed blade knife for outdoors with about a 7" blade max enough to be able to do some chopping, a full flat grind would be preferred and not too expensive.

any good ideas to fill me in ?

Thank you

Sog seal knife, sturdy, strong, sharp and under $100.

forgot to mention no serrations, just plain edge

The Becker BK 7 seems nice but I have trouble finding any to sell online

nice adress for the Ka-Bars I didn't know Becker was part of Kabar now.

I'm looking for something with a blade type-like a RAT-7

Fehrman First Strike 7.5" blade
Ranger RD-7
Scrapyard Son Of Dogfather
Blackjack 1-7 or Halo Attack
Bark River Bravo-2
RAT Cutlery RC-6
Ontario RAT-7

if you want a really inexpensive one Ontario SP-1 marine combat for around $35

How about a Fallkniven A1? Its a little short but a great knife.

That would be Ideal even more with an inch more of blade , same goes for the RAT-7 ideal length ideal blade type, just a little expensive for me looking more into the hundred dollar range

These two are my first runner ups :
RAT Cutlery RC-6
Ontario RAT-7

But since I'm in canada I need to find a good price with shipping because then I need to add the customs and broker fees, that is why I need to stay near the 100$ marker because in the end I'm close to 200$.

Nice suggestions for y'all keep them coming (I'm do want a good steel though so no 20$ knock offs:) )

Rat Cutlery RC6 if you can pay ($124) is NOT bad at all for how awesome this knife is. http://www.chestnutridgeknifeshop.c...d=227&osCsid=3c0f94628dbfad2af070c312bae01417 (Seriously, go with the RAT Cutlery knives, and not ontario's rat knives. The owners and designers of Rat Cutlery designed the rat line for ontario, but then ontario screwed them over and are causing a lot of legal problems for the designers of the knives. Plus, RC's quality, heat treat, and warranty are much much better)

Or if you really want the 7in. blade, go Becker BK7 ($65) http://www.chestnutridgeknifeshop.c...d=631&osCsid=6f8d5af46a84df5aec79f1f1bd5f7af1, (Check out this review: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=642371)

or the old school but awesome USMC KaBar. http://www.chestnutridgeknifeshop.c...th=44&osCsid=09a42fa0e97d3ac8bba961b4cefde7f0

I would recommend to stay away from UPS,better use USPS has no broker fees.

4/5 time when i order from usa i don't pay any custom (taxes).

knivesshipfree.com is a good place to buy rat cutlery knives & chesnut ridge knife shop too

around 120 130 $ is ok nothing higher thant 140-150$ after that I've got customs and brokage, that is why I'm looking for a good overall Knife+shipping price for Canada

I prefer the blade type Drop Point rather than bowie, I want a nice belly for the knife

RAT Cutlery knives are awesome. You can't beat that for the price, good products & great peoples.

What do knivesshipfree and chesnut ridge knife shop tool charge you for shipping (what type of shipping also).
Last year bought a knife from knifecenter.com, 25$ shipping via fedex and than an awesome 40$ of brokage and customs for a 120$ knife so kinda of disgusted of paying lots of shipping and customs.

What province do you live in, I'm in Quebec so I have nice taxes to pay

I'm in Québec too,
knivesshipfree shipping are free for USA & cost $5 for canadian order.in fact the shipping price is included in the price.

I'd ordered many time from KSF without a problem

I see 2 types of RAT-7 in chesnut ridge 1 with 1095 high Carbon and other D2, what better under what circumstances. Edge holding, ease of sharpening, brittle, corrosion resistance ?

I forgot to mention they ship via USPS Express International a little slower than priority but less expensive.

Well then you're of good consulting then, KSF by what means do they ship ? 5$ for shipping ? How long did the shipping take usually ? How's dealing with customs?
Any experience with chesnut ridge?

If I may ask where in Québec ? (Quebec city for me)

1095 for great toughness & ease of sharpening.
D2 is brittle & really hard to sharpen.
