Greetings.
Where can I order one from? My local suppler in Alberta does not carry them and I have a buddy traveling this way from Seatle this Christmas.

Regards,
Dennis

The last time I checked Trugrit does not have them listed on thier site but if you call them they should have them. They also do not list the Scotchbrite belts but they have them also.

Dennis,i would'nt from Tru-grit!! i just recieved one a couple week's back and it will not fit on our grinders.strange,i know. i've tried darn near every belt out there, but this leather belt is a tad bigger and can't be tightened down properly.i'm back to hand stropping for now.If you'd like to try it on your's,let me know!i can send it off to you.but i doubt our grinders are any different.

I wonder if you could rub descant (the stuff that comes in little bags in packages to keep it dry) on the belt and shrink it up enough to fit. We use it in bulk to remove the water from jet fuel and if you get it on leather it shrinks right up. Your gloves will tighten and get way to small quick. One guy wore his leather boots once and that was it for them.

I just run the arm out on my grinder a bit and snug up the belt. All the leather belts I have used are a little loose, compared to a sanding belt. You don't want them to be too tight, and you NEVER want to run them at any speed but dead slow. I would never use one on anything but a variable speed unit.

I have the one from Sheffield and wouldn't recommend it at all. The belt tracks absolutley friggin awful. It is basically unusable. If you can get the one from handamerican, thats the one you want.

I have left messages and emails without any reply. :grumpy:

Why is it so hard to get a good quality 2" x 72" leather horning belt?

I've seen some 2" x 72" leather horning belts that look like they have been cut by a blind man with toe nail clippers (very crooked).

Anymore ideas?

Dennis
