I' ll second this one. While a bit longer than 3", this model is a real no nonsense using knife that fits the hand properly. And priced right. I have one with the micarta handles which was sent to the Dozier shop to have the micarta edges rounded a bit and to have a vertical kydex sheath made for it. Unfortunately, the leather that came with it originally won' t hold up for long.
AG Russell does carry a semi custom line of Dozier knives. They are stamped DOZIER ARKANSAS KNIVES. Please do not address these as "mid- techs" as they are NOT. Ken Onion first coined this term to describe only the line of knives that he first offered a few years back. Both Bob and Ken agree on this.
Well it isn' t really. It' s just that it has been used by many. But too loosely. Ken Onion spelled out specifically what characteristics in his line of knives would fall into this category. Soon after, the term was used as if it was a household word! Bob can speak for himself of course. And he has had very strong feelings about his "semi custom" line being termed "m------h". Sorry for being off topic here. Carry on all.
Oh sAK collector, congrats on a real handsome knife! I plan to get the Arkansas Traveller soon. This model has the same handle configuration as yours. But has a drop point blade. It is a design by Billy Cochran at www.vintageknives.com
Gosh, darn and a few stronger and very inappropriate words....:grumpy: . Not only is that the best looking Dozier knife of the entire line up. It is also relatively cheap. Though I would gladly pay the usual price if I would still be able to buy one.
