Hey fellas - I've never owned an Emerson a day in my life, but my buddy swears by them so I'm looking into getting one.

What model, current or discontinued is a good model to look for that has a 3" or less blade that is PE and also waved. I'd prefer non-tanto, but I'd be willing to try it out.

Any feedback you can give on the model you suggest would be great as well.

Thanks in advance.

The mini CQC 7 is my favorite, but if you don't like tanto blades, the CQC 14 "snuby" is a nce sub 3 inch Emerson. There a pictures of both in other threads in the Emerson forum.

Most of the guys on here are more knowledgeable about EKIs than I am, but...

CQC-14 2.7in - kinduv a drop-point/clip design
Mini CQC-7B 2.9in - tanto
Combat Karambit 2.6in
CQC7 Karambit 2.7in

I just picked up a used Mini 7 and love it, but if tanto isn't your thing that's cool too.
I wish the Mini A100 and A100 had waves. Oh well. Hope this helps.

I'm not opposed to the tanto - Thanks for the suggestions.

That CQC 14 is a pretty cool looking knife. I'm going to have to search these forums for more pics because the Emerson site doesn't have such great pics. I like the idea of having a full handle and a short blade.

The 14 is probably the best bet but a Mini-7A will be a good buy too if you can find one and the mini A-100 is well worth a think.

Another HUGE plus one for the Snubby. It fits the hand near perfectly, I love mine.

I love my Snubby. I have large hands and the handle just about fits my hand but it still very comfortable. I EDC mine and it's never let me down.
